How to cancel Monthly or Yearly Premium
- Open the FolderTube sidebar by clicking the purple button on YouTube.
- Go to your account section.
- Click the button that opens your billing portal. This takes you to your payment processor's secure billing page, not a page hosted by FolderTube itself.
- In the billing portal, find your active subscription and choose to cancel it.
- Confirm the cancellation. You will typically see a confirmation screen and/or email from the payment processor.
Because billing is handled by a third-party payment processor rather than inside the extension itself, the exact wording and layout of the cancellation screen may differ slightly from what is described here, but the flow is the same: open the billing portal from your FolderTube account section, then cancel from there.

Canceling does not turn off Premium right away. Your subscription is set to not renew, but Premium stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
- If you cancel a Monthly plan partway through the month, Premium remains active until that month's billing date.
- If you cancel a Yearly plan, Premium remains active until the end of the paid year, not just the current month.
- You will not be charged again once the cancellation takes effect.
What happens to your data
Nothing is deleted when you cancel. Your folders, the channels assigned to them, and your folder structure all remain exactly as they were. What changes is which features are active:
- Subfolders you already created stay in place, but you lose the ability to create new ones or use nested organization going forward.
- Custom folder colors and icons you already set stay visible, but you can no longer change them.
- Mark as Watched drops back to the free plan's monthly cap.
- Channel video search drops back to the free plan's daily cap.
In short: canceling reverts your account to the free plan's limits. It does not wipe your folder structure or force you to rebuild anything.
Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription
If you bought the Lifetime plan, there is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. Lifetime is a single $39 payment that keeps Premium active on your account going forward, with no renewal date and no billing portal subscription to manage.
Refunds
Refund eligibility is determined by the payment processor handling your purchase (such as Stripe), not by a fixed policy printed in the extension. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact FolderTube support with your purchase details and they can look into it with the payment processor.
Downgrading vs. switching plans
Canceling is only for stepping down to the free plan. If you want to switch from Monthly to Yearly, or move to Lifetime, that is a plan change rather than a cancellation โ look for a 'switch plan' or upgrade option in the account section instead of canceling first.
